Our bodies our constantly talking to us, they are telling us what they need, want, and feel all the time. Do you think your listening, like REALLY listening?

Your body is sending you messages, whether you’re aware of them or not. These physiological signals are unique for each individual. For example, some people experience a racing heart because they’re nervous about having a tough conversation. Others feel low energy for the same reason. Stress may cause one person’s stomach to churn and another to start sweating excessively. How does your body communicate with you and demand your attention?

For a long time I didn't recognize my own alarm signals, Like how out of the blue I developed IBS that was so crippling at times I would be in bed for three days, or how I felt like I couldn't breath properly at times and thought it was just asthma, or how at times I felt so fatigued wanting to just stay inside, hiding from the world, or how my throat would feel like it was dry or sore and tighten up when I didn't speak my truth, I could go on but the point is that all of these things were happening to me as a way for my body to tell me something is up. I've spent the last few years working on building and trusting my intuition and awareness. I am so aware of my body now that I know and understand the signals almost instantly. Now, like anything its still something I work on daily and will always be a work in progress, and yes, every so often a signal gets lost in translation but the point is that I can usually catch it right away and apply the tools I have learned to combat it (like in my previous post on battling depression) or I can got my chiropractor, RMT, Naturopath, Doctor etc.. to have it looked at. I refuse to let my body go back to the unhealthy, terrified, stressed out state it was in before.....I will not let cancer be part of my life ever again! I have the power to heal myself and I will ALWAYS listen to the signals my body is giving me because I had to learn the hard way. But you don't! You can start now!

Whatever the signal, the message is clear. Your body is talking to you and wants you to listen.

To tune in to your body, consider these three questions:

1. In what circumstance do you experience the most difficulty communicating? 2. What physical signals from your body tell you that it’s challenging? 3. What do you do with that information?

Do you know what your numbing strategies are? We all do this, your stomach is turning, you clench your jaw, your heart is racing all of these things are uncomfortable, so we find a quick fix to make it feel better so we can avoid having to actually face the fear of listening to what our body is actually saying to us.These numbing strategies, such as reaching for junk food, alcohol, social media scrolling, etc....usually work for a few minutes to make us feel better, or if you have become really good at this you can make it last hours, days or months but eventually those alarm signals are going to get louder and louder and the "thing" you could have maybe fixed rather easily has become an issue that require a lot more attention and could take longer to heal, or require surgery, or treatment etc...

Honestly is makes me super emotional when I think of the people I know who do this everyday, (and there are lots of them)....I see their bodies screaming at them, yelling for help but they are in such denial or fear that they ignore it, and ignore it, until BAM something major happens.

Here are 10 ways our bodies talk to us

1. Recurring fatigue

2. Excess Weight

3. Frequent colds and flu

4. Feeling overwhelmed

5. Digestive upset

6. Premature signs of aging

7. Frequent headaches

8. Lacking strength and muscle tone

9. Feeling moody

10. Not feeling as healthy as the foods you eat

If you are shaking your head yes to any of the above right now, i suggest figuring out (if you don't know already) what you numbing strategy is so you can be aware of when you're doing it. Awareness and starting to truly develop a trusting and understanding bond with your body and mind is crucial as well.

.

To identify your numbing strategies, consider these three questions:

1. When you’ve agreed to do something you didn’t want to do, what brings you comfort? (That’s your strategy!)

ex. Food, alcohol, social media scrolling, TV, finding a way to "put it off' etc... 2. If you gave the strategy a name, what would it be? 3. How long is the strategy effective?

I said it above and I'll say it again you can heal yourself! I work with people every day on how to incorporate natural solutions into their lives and how to take their overwhelm, stress. or anxiety and turn it into something positive, how to remove the numbing strategies and hit it head on so you can live healthier and happier! If you want my help, or to explore some more natural approaches to your health send me a message I'm always here to help.

XO Andrea
